I’m not dead. MGP 60 is up!

These next few chapters are… kind of where I can ruin my story so I’ve been really dragging my feet (more on that in a moment). I want to thank Nintendrone for helping me edit this chapter to double check for issues. This was especially helpful because my old editor had to step away. Thanks to Shellshocker for all the help over the years. MGP would have been far lesser without your help!

So… uh…. it’s been uh…. two years since the last MGP. What’s been going on? Well… some good things actually. Last time I posted I was in some severe doldrums. I didn’t talk about it but I had been without a job for almost a year and a half at that point. I got some contract work shortly after posting MGP 59 but was kind of told to not get attached as they didn’t tend to hire contractors.

Well, I must have done something right, because a year and a half later they hired me full time. I can’t tell you how much of a load off my mind this has been. As a contractor I was basically on 3 month contracts so it was like having the Sword of Damocles over my head constantly. But now I have a full time job and it’s been a huge burst of creativity on my end.

Obviously this chapter is part of it but the biggest burst I’ve had is in outlining for Villain-in-Distress and the follow up story that will go with it in the same universe (that I’m calling the Distressverse for now). I’ve set up a whole mythology for the world and… okay, I’ll have to start over again with it but, well, it’s had some great results. For example:

I’m eventually going to turn that into a comic book cover for Villain-in-Distress #1. I can’t wait for you to see what I’ve come up with.

Anyway, back to the job thing. Yeah, I wish I could say I’m just hunky-dory (is that how you spell it?0 now but obviously when you are out of a job for a year and a half you get a lot of debts that I’m working through that still weigh on me but, man, just knowing where your next paycheck is coming… I can’t tell you what a relief that is. Plus, I can’t tell you how demoralizing it is to just get rejected on jobs for a year and a half.

But things are good in Taralynn-Land. I’m looking to get more out to all, hopefully sooner than later, but DEFINITELY not 2 years. I’m also working on FINALLY getting the site’s broken links in order. I found AI to be a good tool for this. Don’t worry, I’m not about to start using it for writing or anything. But hunting down broken links? Yeah, I’m willing to use it for that.

Let’s see, in other news, WoW Forever is coming out… uh oh. Let’s hope I don’t get TOO degenerate with it. But it’s not like they created the one class and race combo I’ve wanted narratively for decades… oh crap… they did. Welp, I’m in trouble.
