Two items: One, the pic for November is finally finished and to all patrons who donate $2 or more, you’ll be seeing it on my Patreon page come November 1st. You can see the preview in the upper right.
BUT THAT’S NOT THE NEWS WE ARE HERE FOR! No, we are here for the grand announcement that the commenting period for Chapter 1 of MGP is over and we’re posting it here! For those of you who don’t remember, patrons who donate $5 or more a month on my Patreon page get the right to be a part of this process which I envision as sort of a MST3K of MGP where you can comment on segments of my chapters with all the witty, sarcastic (or serious if you’re so inclined) commentary you like. I’ve shut down the commenting period for Chapter 1 and posting it here as a .docx file.
If you’re wondering why it’s a .docx file, let me explain. We do the commenting process via a googledoc that I give people commenting access to. I had hoped that I could do that, then make the document public for people to just click on to see the comments. Sadly, there isn’t an option to make the COMMENTS public. The only way to see the comments is if you yourself can comment. That sort of defeats the purpose of rewarding my patrons if I make the ability to comment open to everyone.
So, instead I export the file and make it available for download. Sadly, the only export option that seems to preserve the full context of the commentary (ie: what the comment actually was and who made it) is the docx version. I don’t know how ubiquitous it is for people to have Microsoft Word. I can also save it as an OpenOffice document that lists all the comments but it does not list who wrote the comment. If you want to read the commentary but don’t have word, please leave a comment. If there is enough interest I’ll see what I can do about making and OpenOffice option available. Until then, HERE is the link to the docx version.
I found the comments to be quite hilarious and I can’t wait to see what we get for chapter 2. Please leave any other comments you have about ways maybe to improve the process, especially if you are a googledocs wiz. Or, you know, send me an email at taralynnand@gmail.com
Enjoy the read!

OpenOffice (4.1.1 for OS X) is perfectly happy to open it. Comment text and authorship appear intact. External links (youtube, etc) aren’t clickable.
